DS-2CD883F-E megapixel camera is equipped with 1/2.5" CMOS sensor and IR cut filter mechanically removable (ICR). Its native resolution is 2560x1920. With a F1.2 lens, the camera can reach sensitivity of 0.08 lx in B/W mode. It can work together with a varifocal AI lens with C/CS mount. The ICR filter enables operation with IR illuminator(s) in low/zero light conditions (e.g. with Redbeam M1640, M1642) and ensures natural color reproduction in daylight.
The video data can be transmitted and displayed at the following frame rates:
- 6.25 fps for resolution of 2560 × 1920,
- 12.5 fps for resolutions of 1600×1200 and 1600×912,
- 25 fps for resolutions of 1920 × 1080, 1600×1200 and 1280×720.
Apart from resolution and frame rate, the user can change a number of parameters:
- image quality,
- kind of frame,
- type of stream,
- bitrate parameters,
- repeatability of "I" frames,
- maximum bitrate - aside from the preset values, it can be set freely.
The camera has been equipped with the following connectors/interfaces:
- LAN - RJ-45
- BNC video output,
- 2 x JACK (audio in / audio out),
- RS485 - terminal block,
- two alarm connectors (in/out) - terminal block,
- RJ45 socket (Ethernet and PoE),
- SD/SDHC flash memory card slot,
- grounding connector.
The camera can cooperate with Pan-Tilt devices that are controlled through the RS485 interface. There are over 80 PTZ protocols available.
The built-in hardware motion detection enables the operator to define monitored zones and set sensitivity.

The camera can detect the following alarm events:
- motion,
- video loss,
- loss of network connection,
- IP address conflict,
- storage exception.
Any detected alarm event (or change of the state of alarm input) can generate:
- OSD info,
- alarm sound,
- action triggered by alarm output.
The camera uses NAS technology, so it has the ability to send data directly to the disk storage connected to the network, which significantly reduces the costs of maintaining CCTV systems.

Hybrid CCTV systems based on IVMS-4000 software
DS-2CD883F-E K1444 cameras are recommended for hybrid CCTV systems using HIKVISION/ULTIMAX DVRs. The IVMS-4000 software, supplied with the cameras, allows for live monitoring, video recording and playback from up to 50 Hikvision devices, e.g. 25 IP cameras and 25 DVRs (regardless of the number of channels).
The software enables the user to set parameters of displaying and recording, configure network, perform remote firmware updates, define local users, manage network storage, handle alarm events.
