CCTV is the use of video cameras to send out a signal to a specific, small set of monitors. Whereas, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) camera’s function is intended to provide clear images even under back light circumstances.
In offices and retail stores where there are with big glass windows, the indoor security cameras are pointed towards a window or entry door. There are chances of the background to get washed out during daytime and result in the loss of pertinent information. To overcome such problems you can install WDR cameras.WDR cameras are more apt for situations where light enters a premise from various angles such as a multi-window room. This is an apt office security method.

How Does a WDR Camera Work

This camera is fitted with two CCDs (charge-couple device). The first CCD scans the images in normal light condition. Then the camera scans the second time at high speed to get the picture with strong light background. Both the images are combined into one in an image processor. This will to provide a balanced image which shows the indoors and outdoors clearly. This camera is also capable of switching from color to black and white for 24 hour surveillance of an area where light level changes over time.

Benefits

1. Compensates bright background and low light conditions.
2. Produces clear, low noise images with good contrast.
3. Provides a balanced exposure of both bright and dark areas in the same scene.
4. Ideal for the toughest backlight problems.
