Optex, Inc., the Chico, CA, supplier of hardwired and wireless outdoor detectors, has added the SL-350 QFR, a 350-foot battery-powered photoelectric detector that requires no trenching or wiring to its outdoor battery-powered intrusion line.
According to Scott Simmons, vice president of sales, Optex is following up on the success of its 100-foot and 200-foot battered-powered beams with the SL-350DFR to provide a more cost-effective solution for larger sites, where too many beams would have been required with the 100 and 200 foot products. He said the SL-350DFR would include additional features that customers had asked for, such as quad beam detection and extended battery life of up to 10 years.
The SL-350QFR is available in a wireless-ready version that works with most manufacturers’ wireless systems and an iSeries SL 350QFRi that includes an Inovonics wireless EN1941 transmitter pre-installed. Both versions come with four batteries per set, with the option of expanding to eight for up to 10 years of battery life.
In addition, the SL-350QFR is compatible with the AX-TW200 line of beam towers for a clean, concealed, wireless mounting option. Optex lead technician Frank Chavez promised that the company’s sales staff and technical team would work closely with integrators and installers to find the best mounting option and layout on their job sites.
“When a site plan is provided, we’ll custom build the towers and pre-install the SL-350QFR beams in them, based on the job specifications, all at no charge,” Chavez said. “We’ll even ship them directly to the site, labeled for position and ready to be installed.”
Chavez further indicated that the flexibility and durability of the SL-350QFR series make it well suited for substations, oil and gas facilities, storage and impound yards, critical infrastructures, industrial complexes and solar fields.
Features and benefits of the new photoelectric detector include:
- Complete compatibility with the majority of wireless systems on the market;
- The iSeries version includes Iovonics transmitter pre-installed, allowing for a quicker set-up time on job site;
- A new long distance viewfinder eases the installation and insures optimal beam performance by increasing visibility during the alignment process;
- Four selectable beam frequencies for stacking applications when a higher level of security is required.
Optex, Inc markets indoor and outdoor passive infrared technology, hardwired and wireless outdoor detectors and photobeams, specialized sensors to trigger CCTV systems and one-of-a-kind Class -1 laser detectors for Optex Company Limited of Otsu, Japan.
