IP Recorder - Global e-Solutions

A network video recorder allows simultaneous recording and remote access to live views and playback of video recorded from network/IP video cameras.

Data is stored on a solid-state hard disk cartridge with a SATA interface or on CompactFlash® card formatted as a regular FAT32 volume. The files can be accessed instantly and used without custom software using a PC with standard connectors and off-the-shelf readers. The files are in the popular open source PCAP file format that can be opened, viewed and post-processed using many third party software applications including Wireshark. They are all powered from standard 28V aircraft power and experience no start up delay due to their microprocessor free operation.

The ruggedized recorders are compact and lightweight making them ideal for a variety of airborne applications. The IP recorder family utilizes different options to meet customer specific needs with logging speed available from 64Mbps to 400Mbps and variants with different color, display/mounting and storage medium configurations. Initial customer orders have selected these products for mission recording, usage monitoring and flight test.Using its experience in designing ruggedized airborne data acquisition systems, ACRA CONTROL has developed a range of stand-alone IP recorders that capture Ethernet packets from onboard networks. These recorders are built using open industry standard setup protocols, storage mediums and file formats. They are compact and reliable with a simplified setup, a streamlined configuration and an operating range of -40 to 85°C. The open Ethernet protocol SNMP can be used for setup, status and control.

A Network Video Recorder or NVR is an internet protocol based device that sits on a network. Because they are IP based, Network Video Recorders can be managed remotely via a LAN or over the Internet giving greater flexibility. The basic function of an NVR is the simultaneous recording and remote access of live video streams from an IP Camera.

One the trademarks of Network Video Recorders is their ease of use and installation. Typically, a Network Video Recorder will feature flexible recording and playback capability, an optional intuitive remote control unit, a user-friendly GUI, Intelligent Motion Detection, and PTZ camera control.
In relation to recording and play-back, an NVR has some similarities to a Digital Video Recorder. An NVR is a true digital system that receives digital images/video streams over the network and records them on a hard disk in a digital format. Where as a Digital Video Recorders is in fact a hybrid system that can accommodate analog cameras and store the video on a hard disk in digital format. where as Some DVRs have a rudimentary interface to the network that offers remote viewing capabilities. An NVR does not have a dedicated monitor and keyboard. All viewing and management of the NVR takes place remotely over the network via a PC.

An NVR is designed to offer optimal performance for up to a set number of cameras, which makes it less scalable than a PC Server platform system. This makes the unit suitable for smaller system configurations where the number of cameras stays within the limits of the NVR design capacity. An advantage is that an NVR is less complex to install in comparison to a PC Server platform.

New generation of NVR hardware are now “open platform” systems. They are NVRs that allow the user to run any IP Recording software on the market. They usually support a Windows or Linux environment. They are now rack mountable units that are at a minimum of 1U in size. These open platform NVRs allow for flexibility and scalability when deploying an enterprise level camera system. Each NVR unit can support up to 50 cameras, a number much higher than traditional NVRs. The restriction on dedicated hardware are lessened in this new generation of NVRs so that maintenance is kept at an affordable price.

Most surveillance software will require a dedicated server to store recorded video. Network Video Recorders are customized servers built just for the purpose of handling IP camera systems on a dedicated network. The NVR’s are designed to handle the vast amounts of simultaneous video streams coming in for recording and rebroadcasting the same feed out live to client machines locally or remotely. NVR’s can range from entry level to enterprise level. Webcamproshop’s line of NVR’s have been used in schools, cities, police departments, businesses, military, and homes. We have NVR’s available for all applications. These NVRs with the use of video encoders and supported recording software can provide a hybrid system where analog and IP cameras can coexist. For analog only systems we offer the industry’s best line of DVRs from  Hikvison, Dahua, Samsung, LF, Bosch, Dahua, iRobotics, etc.............
